Addendum: Attempting to put my finger on it

Go figure. I already have more to say regarding my political views. Actually, something I forgot to include in yesterday's post.

Maintaining a free market competitive economy

I scratched "free market" because that typically implies no government involvement in the economy. What makes a free market desirable for an economy is competition amongst firms--companies competing for limited demand are compelled to keep prices down and make advancements in their product or service. Therefore, insomuch as it is possible, the federal government has a responsibility to actively maintain competition by regulating just enough to prevent obstacles to competition such as monopolies (natural, eventual byproducts of a completely free economy).

  1. I'm not sure if I ever knew that "insomuch" was a word. Cool!
